Services for prospective and established adopters

Pre-Adoption Services

When you are first thinking about intercountry adoption, and throughout the process the Advice Line is available to you. For information about the Advice Line and how to contact us click here. You might also wish to attend a Information Day for those who are at the earliest stages of the process. We also offer an Information Day for extended family members which is likely to be of interest to members of your family, or your nominated guardian, either during your homestudy assessment process or after your application to adopt from overseas has been approved.

Post Adoption Services

Once you and your child have returned to the UK, you may have new questions and concerns. In addition to the Advice Line service, IAC runs Post Adoption Workshops for adoptive families which are likely also to be of interest to adoptive parents who are approved and waiting to have a child placed with them.

Consultation Services

IAC also runs consultations services for individuals interested in adopting a child from overseas & for the parents of children adopted from overseas. IAC's Face to Face Pre Adoption and Face to Face After Adoption services offers an opportunity to discuss and explore issues with experienced adoption social workers, who are themselves adoptive parents. Country Specific Workshops

A new service from IAC: These workshops offer an informal but structured setting in which to explore the procedures, laws, profile of children, costs and challenges specific to adopting from specific countries.
