Post Adoption Workshops

IAC is offering workshops for families who have adopted from overseas, or for applicants waiting to adopt who have completed the assessment process.

The aims of the workshops are to offer:

  • the opportunity to consider in-depth issues faced by families parenting a child from overseas.
  • the opportunity to explore and share adoptive parenting strategies.
  • the opportunity to meet and share experiences with other adoptive parents.

Currently four themed workshops are offered:

  • Exploring adoption with young children adopted from overseas / searching for roots.
  • Race, culture and identity.
  • Intercountry adoption and schools.
  • Intercountry adoption and the teenage years.

The workshops run as three-quarter modules or a full day course.

The workshops run on a regular basis and are held at our North London venue. However provision can be made to run courses at a venue provided by the Local Authority or Voluntary Adoption Agency throughout the UK. Please enquire for details and out of London fee structure.

Fees

Please note: these fees are based on full-day workshops; fees for three-quarter workshops will be on a pro-rata basis.
