Information Days IAC offers one-day Information Days for prospective intercountry adopters. The sessions are led by Intercountry Adoption Centre staff together with experienced intercountry adopters. Who may attend? Those considering intercountry adoption and who have not yet begun the homestudy process. Information Days are open to anyone considering intercountry adoption and you do not need to be referred by your local authority or voluntary adoption agency. However, if your local authority of voluntary adoption agency subscribe to IAC a referral by them will benefit from a concessionary rate course fee. To check whether your local authority or agency subscribes to IAC view our subscribers' list It is most beneficial if both partners attend if you will be applying jointly to adopt. Single applicants may find it helpful to bring a friend or family member with them too. What is the purpose of the Information Day? The day offers an informal setting in which to explore the procedures, issues and challenges involved in intercountry adoption in the company of other prospective adopters. This is intended to supplement the consultation and advice available through local social services departments and through voluntary adoption agencies. Where and when will the Information Day take place? Information Days are held at least once each month in North London and are also available on a regular basis in Belfast.
