Implementation of the Adoption and Children Act 2002 introduced many changes in intercountry adoption, resulting in an increased workload for all who are working in this specialist area.
Many Local Authorities and Voluntary Adoption Agencies choose to subscribe to IAC both to access services for their prospective and established adopters such as the Preparation courses and Adoption Support Workshops, or because they wished to access specialist training and consultation for themselves as managers, their adoption social workers and their panel members. Some recognsise that subscription to IAC adds value to the services they offer their intercountry adopters and that it is also valuable in helping their agency to meet inspection standards. Over 70 suscribers now know that they can rely on us to provide the specialist information and advice they need to support their intercountry adoption work.
