Linking Services
Recognition by the Indian Central Authority
On 21 February 2011 Intercountry Adoption Centre (IAC) was enlisted as an authorised Foreign Adoption Agency by the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), the central authority for adoption in India. Following this, IAC plans to offer an India Linking Service from summer 2011. Although many other receiving States have established linking agencies, IAC is the first agency in the UK to achieve such recognition from the government of any State of origin. Further information will be available on this website in due course.
Whilst India is the first country with which IAC will be offering a linking service, this agency is currently working to develop linking arrangements with several other countries in the hope that we will be in a position to offer linking services in respect of other countries for prospective intercountry adopters in the UK.
As a specialist adoption agency IAC is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children overseas for whom an intercountry adoption placement might represent the best opportunity for that child to enjoy family life.
