Fundraising

There is an ever-growing demand for IAC's service. We need more funds if we are to continue to respond effectively to those who need adoption support.

IAC does not make a charge for its Advice and Information service to members of the public who contact our Advice Line, although there is a fee for most IAC publications and for other IAC services. A small percentage of our income comes from local authorities and voluntary adoption agencies who subscribe to IAC in order to receive publications, information, training and a priority service for their staff and for adoptive families living in their area.

Otherwise we are entirely reliant on donations and grants to finance our core activities.

With the funds we currently have available we are only able to offer an Advice line service to the public for four days a week. Your contribution could help us to stay open for a full working week. £300 would cover the cost of running our Advice line for one day and would ensure that people who are looking to adopt from abroad and those who have already done so would have access to help and support. We are also developing our intermediary services for adopted people and their birth relatives and a donation, no matter how small, would help us to take this forward.

By making a donation to IAC, you will be be benefiting children adopted from overseas and their families in the UK.

Your donation will enable us to keep our information up-to-date and to ensure that there are skilled advisors at the end of a phone to talk to callers and to reply to the many letters and emails we receive. It will also support IAC's other services through which we share our knowledge, disseminate information, and prepare people for the reality of intercountry adoption. It will also support the further development of our adoption support services for established adoptive families and to adopted adults.

Donations can be made using a debit or credit card, or alternatively you can mail us a cheque (made payable to Intercountry Adoption Centre), or you can donate via our online shop - click on Donations and Friends Scheme once you are there.
