Information Days

IAC offers a one day Information Day for prospective intercountry adopters. These sessions are led by Intercountry Adoption Centre staff together with experienced intercountry adopters. You can Download an Information Day Leaflet about the day from this site.

Who are the days for?

Information Days are of most benefit to those considering intercountry adoption who have not yet begun the adoption assessment with their Local Authority or Voluntary Adoption Agency. The days are open to anyone and you do not have to be referred by your Local Authority or Voluntary Adoption Agency, although if your adoption agency is a subscriber to IAC you will benefit from a concessionary day rate. To check whether your Local Authority or Voluntary Adoption Agency subscribes to IAC download our Subscribers List.

It is most beneficial if both partners attend if you are applying jointly to adopt. Single applicants may find it helpful to bring a friend or family member with them too.

What is the purpose of the Information Day?

The day offers an informal setting in which to explore the procedures, issues and challenges involved in intercountry adoption in the company of other prospective adopters. This is intended to supplement the consultation and advice available through your local authority or voluntary adoption agency. The Face to Face pre adoption sessions and Country Workshops are a further way to add to your knowledge.
