Country Workshops
IAC regularly runs Country Workshops currently focussing on two countries, India and Russia. These days are designed to offer more detailed information about adopting from a specific country and are viewed as an addition to the general Information Day. You can download a leaflet for both the India Workshop and the Russia Workshop.
The Workshops are intended to supplement the advice and consultation available through Local Authority and Voluntary Adoption Agencies and build on the general Information Day run by IAC. This Workshop will not cover in detail the procedures in the UK pre approval and it is advised that before attending a Country Information Workshop you consider attending the general Information Day.
The day is informal but structured and covers:
- The legislation, process and procedures involved in the country of origin
- The adoption criteria and costs
- The profile of children and possible health issues
- A personal account from an experienced adoptive parent who has adopted from the country recently.
